ICE Detainee Release Paths
A person leaving Webster County sheriff custody may go into the community after bond, time served, dismissal, or another lawful discharge. The person may instead move to another county jail, Georgia Department of Corrections custody, federal custody, or an agency acting on a hold. Those results are not interchangeable. The sheriff's booking and release file should identify the end of the local custody episode, while a bond order, disposition, sentence, or transfer record in court can explain why it ended.
Webster County has no official online roster or release-only list. A name disappearing from an unrelated roster is therefore not the local release record. If the arrest was displayed or housed through Sumter County, that jail's status may offer a useful clue. A person sent to GDC has left the county-jail lane but remains in state custody. Release should be stated only after the responsible source supports it.
Confirm ICE Custody Status
The official starting point is ICE ODLS. Search with the A-number when available. The alternate route uses name, country of birth, and date of birth. Match carefully because spelling and biographical data matter. ICE materials state that ODLS can include people now in ICE custody and people released from ICE custody within the last sixty days.
- Choose the A-number or biographical search.
- Enter the required identifiers accurately.
- Review the ICE custody result.
- Check the county or federal source for the earlier criminal custody event.
- Use official case records when a result needs context.
The office says staff respond within three business days with estimated completion time and cost. That is a response framework, not a promise that every record will arrive in three days. Search, redaction, production, and copying can affect timing and cost. The broader Webster County released inmate search and records guide explains how court, VINE, GDC, BOP, and ICE sources fit around the local request.
ICE Locator Contact Route
ICE ODLS is the documented public route for immigration custody. It does not supply the Webster County booking record or criminal disposition. Search results should be checked against accurate identifiers and the agency record for the custody stage that came before ICE.
Use the Online Detainee Locator System for public immigration-custody status.
No Webster County ICE facility or detention contract was found.
The local request page lists a research fee under O.C.G.A. 50-18-71, ten cents per page, and one dollar per disc or tape. An agency may redact protected material or explain why an exemption applies. A pending case, juvenile matter, restricted record, or protected personal information can affect what is released. Ask for an existing record rather than a new report the office does not maintain.
ICE Locator Scope
ODLS is an immigration detention locator. It is not a criminal case database, county roster, or GDC search. No Webster County ICE facility was found.
Local custody commonly covers the period around arrest, booking, bond, preliminary court action, a short sentence, or transfer. State-prison custody is different. If a Webster case produces a GDC sentence, use the statewide offender record after transfer. A person released on local bond may never appear in GDC because that person never became a state prisoner.
ICE Sixty-Day Release Window
ICE describes ODLS as covering current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the last sixty days. That makes it a short-window status source, not a lasting archive. An older release may no longer appear through the same public route. A missing result can also stem from incomplete identifiers or a person outside ODLS coverage.
The sixty-day window refers to ICE custody. It does not date the end of a Webster sheriff booking, GDC sentence, or BOP term. Use the source tied to each custody episode.
County Release Versus ICE Transfer
A person may leave a county jail because another agency takes custody. In that event, the county record can truthfully say the local custody episode ended while the person remains detained by ICE. The destination or detainer field, if maintained, is vital. Ask the county for its release or transfer record and search ODLS for the immigration stage.
No evidence showed a Webster County ICE detention contract. ICE language on this page is conditional and should not be read as a claim that routine Webster releases involve immigration detention.
ICE Records Are Not Case Records
ODLS answers a custody-location question. It does not provide a criminal court disposition, county booking file, full immigration case history, or Georgia sentence record. A released result means the ICE custody status changed within the locator's scope. It should not be stretched into proof that every legal process ended.
For the earlier Webster criminal event, use sheriff and court records. For state prison, use GDC. For sentenced federal prison, use BOP. This source separation is the clearest way to reconstruct a custody chain.
After Webster Jail Release
A local release can still leave duties in force. A person released on bond may have a future court date. A sentence may include felony probation supervised by the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. A parolee has left prison under conditions, while a person transferred to another jail has not entered the community at all. The release type and destination field, if maintained, help identify the next lane.
VINE may provide a status-change notice when the holding agency feeds the system. It is a notification layer, not a certified release sheet. For source-grade proof, request the sheriff record and read the court disposition. If the record points to GDC, BOP, or ICE, continue with that agency rather than assuming the Webster custody episode tells the full story.
When ICE Search Finds Nothing
No ODLS result is not proof of release. Recheck the A-number, name spelling, country of birth, and date of birth. The person may fall outside the locator's public coverage, may have an older release beyond the stated window, or may never have entered ICE custody. If the question began with a Webster County arrest, return to the sheriff or serving jail record and look for a transfer destination. Federal court or BOP records may also describe a separate federal stage. The safest conclusion is limited to what the named agency shows. Do not convert a blank immigration search into a statement about a criminal case, county release, or state sentence.
